NSCN (IM) activist accused of raping 7-year old

Community organizations have charged a functionary of the NSCN (IM) of raping–and threatening to kill– a minor girl in Dimapur “weeks back.”  Community groups say that the alleged victim was a 7-year old, class-iv student.

The Aghunato Area Union of Dimapur and the Tizu Island Union of Dimapur issued separate press statements on Thursday naming one Aketo Aye, a “leacy UT 1” of the NSCN-IM for allegedly committing the crime at his residence in Thilixu village “few weeks back.”

“The Aghunato Area Union Dimapur (AAUD) highly condemns the rape of a minor by Aketo Aye, Leacy UT 1, NSCN-IM who also threatened to kill the victim if she report the despicable crime committed by him.  This contemptible incident took place at Aketo’s residence at Thilixu village few weeks back,” the union stated.

Stating that “this kind of crime” should be condemned by all right-thinking citizens, the community group has demanded that the enforcement authorities act and “take sternest action so as to set an example to prevent such crime in future.”

The union has also asked the NSCN/GPRN to “take appropriate action” for the said crime “according to their Yehzabo.”

Likewise, the T (Tizu) Island Union of Dimapur dencounced the “horrific rape of seven years old girl by Aketo Aye, Leacy UT 1, NSCN-IM at his residence at Thilixu Village a couple of weeks back.”

The union stated:

“On that ghastly day, this child rapist Aketo Aye, who is a neighbor of the victim sent out the victim’s brother to the shop on the pretext of buying things and horrifically raped the minor while his brother was away.”

He then threatened to kill this class 4 student if she disclose to anyone.”
Fearing for her life, this traumatized child hid the barbaric crime committed on her for two weeks.”

Her parents came to know this beastly act only after the victim’s condition became serious due to injury caused by Aketo Aye.”

The organization has demanded that the authorities and the law enforcers award befitting and exemplary punishment ‘to avert (sic) such horrendous crime in the society.’

The union has also demanded that the authorities ensure that the case is a “non-bailable offence”.

“This paedophile (sic) is now under police’s custody,” the union added.
