Sakshi students of Longleng doesn't trust the Nagaland government

A students’ union in a small village in Longleng district is ‘grateful’ to the School Education department for assuring two teachers for their high school in response to recent agitations—but until the teachers show up in person, at a specific time, and specific day, the union will continue.

A brief note from the Sakshi Laivangh Khong (Sakshi Students’ Union) expressed “deep appreciation” to the department for ‘re-deploying” a teacher each for mathematics and science—at least through an order.

The union and the government high school of Sakshi have been protesting for lack of teachers for said subjects, for which the school was shut indefinitely. Notwithstanding the ‘order,’ the union is skeptical: ‘...the SSU has some apprehension regarding the implementation of the order especially going by the experience of the past where such orders have not been fulfilled. Therefore the SSU requests all the teaching and non-teaching staff including the two new appointees to be present in the school campus on 30th August at 8:00 am sharp after which the SSU will decide whether to call off the agitation or not because this time SSU is dead serious to rebuild the GHS Sakshi which has been neglected for last 25 years.”
